Just about completed the main saloon and the forecabin. This is what the interior looked like when I bought the boat - original 1979

The basic structure is unchanged apart from the area above the starboard seating in the saloon where I have just finished the bookshelf and installed the stereo. This area was originally open and no lining to the bare GRP hull. The bare GRP both here and in the forecabin has been lined with cedar T&G that previously spent 30 years as the ceiling of the kitchen at home. All the hardwood trim is reclaimed, much of it from the original bannister handrail in my 1970s house. The table has been reveneered is Sapele and finished with a Brittens polyurethane varnish. Other details include new brass LED lamps and of course the new upholstery courtesy of Sew Trim in Botley. New photos to compare plus extra of the forecabin

What a big improvement. Just shows what an extensive refit of an older boat can do to make it more desirable. Such a change from your last 2 Bavarias, being able to easily change things. It was a shame when I was in Poole 2 years ago and met up with you, work on the engine stopped me going down below. Hope you are enjoying sailing her now rather than working on her (for her next owner!).
