I see that you also have that VDO sumlog thing, which I've yet to see working on any boat.
Did you ever investigate whether it's the gauge or the sensor that is defective?

I did fit a new paddle wheel and supposedly check the wires at the log end which is nearly under a shaft .Had a cursory look at the gauge .
keep meaning to get a GPS 84 mm Dia digital speedo and swap out .
Its on the “list “

The one on the S/Sker worked but was inaccurate never tallied with the GPS / plotter .
Hence the low enthusiasm.

Pretty low on my list either, also because I can't make up my mind on what to replace it with.
Also a GPS speedo doesn't make much sense imho, since SOG is already available on the plotter...
