Getting the kids keen... West Wittering beach

If we're sharing East Head shots a few memories of the summer with the kids:

Less pleasant was a mid-winters night I spent there alone in a SW gale. The waves work their way right in the entrance and the noise of the waves bashing on the beach really carries. A noisy sleepless night getting bashed around was an effective way to learn East Head isn't as sheltered from Slys as it seems. :D

Also the tidal curve is not symetrical which means you can end up with a long wait eg you dry out two hours before low water but don't float until four hours after

Good reason to use an app like the Imray Tides one, that shows you the curve so you can go off actual depths rather than just times before and after high or low water.

What a nice looking boat, what is she ?

Boo2

We saw the same boat at east head and did wonder what it was, the yacht on the top right not the dinghy

Nice looking boat, no idea what it is. Shows we have very different boating ambitions; for me the standout desirable boat on that day was a 15ft West Wight Potter. :D
