Getting the keys on Monday :)

Hi Nigel,

Saw you passing the Hamble fuel pontoon around 9 am this morning, and I must say your new boat looked fabulous! Hope the trip West went OK today, at least the weather was kind to you.

Cheers, Allan

Thanks Alan

We've made it to Dartmouth, (just scoffed a pile of fish and chips at the Rockfish).
Bottled out of crossing Portland race after we refueled at Portland Marina. It's the 4th time I've tried to cut inshore past the lighthouse and lost the nerve each time:)

Lime bay was lumpy but fine and the boat didn't put a foot wrong.

Pulled into our reserved place at Dart Marina feeling very proud of our boat and then realising we are sandwiched between 2 60' Sunseekers!

Onwards to Falmouth tomorrow....

Excellent Nigel. I've never experienced it but there can't be many things more exciting than seeing your new boat being built, apart from your first day of being on board.

Looks superb, had I known you were berthed in Falmouth Nigel I'd have kept a look out for it whilst I was down for a couple of days last week visiting a customer....!
Be back down at the end of Jan so I'll have a look for her then, where are you berthed?
Rob :)

Congratulations Nigel and I hope you have many years of fun with her! As you know, I am a proud owner of the next model up - the 550 Fly called Gentileschi. The main difference is that there is much more space in the master cabin, a slightly bigger galley (I like cooking) and a different drive system. Rather than Volvo, they are Cummins with Zeus pods. This package incidently includes Autopilot, Skyhook (gps "anchor"), etc as standard whereas with Volvo they are all extras. So whilst I did initially want to buy the 500 myself but glad I stepped up a level. As we touched on in a previous thread, maybe one day a 650? ;-)

Excellent vid, nigel. All the best for the new boat and it would be interesting to hear how you get on with the Prestige in the future and particularly, the pods so keep the reports and vids coming!

OK
We've had the best week on the boat, sun and shirts sleeves in Plymouth and some very interesting sea! When it did rain I had a little time to edit some video of the racing lift, quick scrub and anode check that we organised last week:

Probably could do without the cheesy music and naff effects but it rained all day and I was playing with some Final Cut tutorials....:)
Boats been in for around 6 months now and I was pretty impressed with the lack of growth and slime, esp on the legs, interested to hear if it looks normal but to me it looks to be less than we usually experience...even in the Autumn/Winter.

Great idea for a lift out at 6 months.

Good to check the progress of any wear of anodes etc, and to keep the bottom slippery.

Surprising how small your boat looks in the slings.

Cheers

Garold

It's a bit tight there in Mayflower but the guys do a great job, and at about half the cost of YachtHaven.

Did you give the props a good clean or just pressure washed them? I always have a container of brick cleaner handy.

That clean are you sure its been 6 months!
Wondered about that niffty sideway movement off the berth until I clocked the pods on the lift :)

It's does seem clean doesn't it, shall have to check with Ancasta re dates and the make of anti foul...

Can't tell from the footage but the wind was blowing around 25mph that day but the Volvo IPS just brushes it off...
