Getting rid of Diesel Smell

Managed to get a small quantity of diesel into the bilges, have cleaned it all up but the interios still smells. What is best way to get rid of the smell?

If you've already cleaned the bilges really well, you could try a smell-removing spray which vets use in their consulting rooms. It's called "AntiOdor" and most vets would probably sell you a bottle (or contact Leo Laboratories in Aylesbury for stockist info). Spray it in the bilges and around the boat.

Even cheaper Toilet Duck, which you can get in any supermarket.

True, but you can\'t spray it around the interior!

So long as you have removed any chance of more diesel getting in to the bilges, because 1 drip is enough to keep the smell going. I have used all of the above including Pine fresh disinfectant, tolet duck, and all the rest. Just keep applying it and vent the boat as often as possible

1) Ventilate
2) Spread a pack of ground coffe powder on a newspaper. This will absorp most of the fumes
3) More ventilation

charcoal would do just as well ..and probably a lot cheaper
