Getting rid of diesel odour

I have used a splash of bilgex in the past, pour some bilgex in with some water, enough to splosh around, but not to flood the area, and leave for a day or two, and soak up with disposable nappy.

Another tip is to use an orange or lemon smelling grease remover,

Toilet duck-another solution

If that's not for you then someone will be along with another solution soon.

When needs must ( dodgy diesel pump at the dock), white spirit, then liberal fairy liquid and bleach then buckets of water seem to remove completely real horrors across me beautiful teak deck, and any post-servicing diesel smell in engine tray area too.

Now await the 'proper' product along soon...

I've had good success with cat litter tray odour killer, the ones that are enzyme based. One of the supposed better products is Pure Ayre but it's American and I can't find it over here but I did read somewhere that someone had it shiped over.

Take "Brake-Cleaner" spray available in every DIY ! Spray on the diesel spilt area and every drip of diesel will be "neutralized". Can be used also to check leaks in the diesel filters/gaskets after cleaning them as it makes a extreme dry surface after evaporating.

A TIP about Diesel

Apart from Bilgex to remove diesel smells, to keep diesel away from teak, wet the teak with water before you refuel and spillage wont penetrate.

another use for the cockpit shower!
