Getting rid of a stiffy.

Advertising types are not wired right. They really think that people will buy a product from someone who has annoyed them. The one that annoys me most is Channel 4OD, which forces you to watch the adverts and doesn't allow you to fast forward through or skip them. If someone actively wants to skip an ad it must be totally counterproductive to force them to watch it. They must then be less likely to buy the product than if they hadn't seen the ad, I know I am.

I absolutely concur, all the commercial stations do that though, *uckwits!

No - they think the one person in a hundred (or whatever the figure is) who they haven't annoyed will.

The problem is that they don't yet know which of the hundred that is! :D

Ads on TV is the time to make tea :-D

I ripped mine out in the shop I bought it from.

Likewise.

Also leave all the annoying loose inserts in the shop - perhaps the might of the supermarkets where I do this may bring some influence to the subject.

Do magazines include loose inserts in the calculation when they boast about editorial to advertising space ratio?

Lately they've been ads for Marine Superstore ... I wonder how much extra they pay to have their ad instantly ripped out and binned? ... Very annoying and the first thing I do as soon as I get the plastic posting envelope thingy off ... instant binning of inserts as well.

When Ilooked into this thread, the one underneath was entitled Frustration. I think we all need to get out sailing more......

I shake the radio times in the supermarket to get rid of the inserts. i also watch live telly on the skybox on live pause. if you time irt right you can fast forward all the commercail breaks and end up at the end of the programme and 'go live' in time to do the same for the next one.

agree about the On Demand sites but the adds do fund them, if you use a tabbed browser you can catch up on the forum while the ads are on
