The plan is to marry on a boat on Christmas eve 2003
My requests are NO shoes or ties and on a boat somewhere hot.
Does anybody know of a really nice boat that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to charter, that is somewhere hot and would be good for a wedding.

We don't want a super tanker but something like a Princess 61
Any suggestions appreciated.
Ideally to sleep 10 but more would be better.

Chris

Just so long as you realise a Captain cannot marry you... that is just a romantic fallacy and such marriages are only for the duration of the voyage, if ya don't believe me as Tony (Boatone) he will back me on this.

I can marry you ....

I'm an ordained minister. The (very) Reverend Pauline Beddoes. It's true - there are a few ministers on this forum. Blame tcm, he sent us to the website and made us to it.

BVI boats

If you want a power boat in BVI, twill be difficult, unless you're happy with a Trader. Vitesse have a brand new Targa 48 there, would that do ? - it wouldn't sleep 10, but neither would a P61. The Targa is quite a bit less than £15k/week

AFAIK you will not be able to charter a boat for more than 12 passengers, because of SOLAS rules that apply ferry type standards to boats with >12 px, which very few yachts, even mega yachts, qualify for. To get more than 12 on a non-qualified charter boat, it has to be moored up, I think.

Re: BVI boats

Targa 48???? Could be an option, maybe more than one boat would be a good idea if what you say is correct about the 12 person and ferry rule.
Where can I find out more about the Targa?

Re: borrow the leopard

Wos his face has got that big old Leopard out in the med, why not pretend to be his mate for a couple of days and then pop the question " can I borrow your boat mate".

If he's taken the bait he'll lend you it, if not he'll most likely give you a wedgie or something similar, he seems to be bit of a wiley old fox so be descreet.

Course I'd offer to lend you my mine only its in for a service that week !!!

Sorry

;-)

SWMBO and I chartered a boat in the BVI and got hitched whilst we were out there but we did it to ensure we had no mothers in law present. Brilliant way to do it. Suggest the aft deck of a Trader would be a good place - speak to Tarquin. Sunset time not a good idea as photos spoiled by swarms of mosquitos

Sounds like a good idea, maybe early morning would be better before it gets too hot?
The fiance likes Traders too so that might be a very good option.

Well I can't call her the b1tch or her indoors.

I'll introduce her to everyone...... Her name is Natalie.

So from now on I shall refer to her as Nat not just fiance.

Getting married on Trader
Its all like a big parable for the future

you start your married life.....

out of your depth in water
with something you can't afford to run

;-)

Come on brain.get this over and i can go back to killing you with beer

You'll bloody well refer to her a SWMBO just like the rest of us poor married buggers....

Haven't you got any mates that can talk you out of this?
