Just a month or so back I thought the season was a non starter, but now approaching Helford to anchor for the night. It’s sunny and sea is virtually flat. And then off to the cove at St Agnes, my favourite anchorage anywhere, tomorrow, where I’ll be meeting up with my son and his family, his first trip there in his own boat. The fx is looking good for the rest of the week, the Turks Head is open, life is looking good.

Had a few happy hols when the kids were toddlers in the Scillies .Even used to hire a small boat for a week with a OB and dragg it up the beach @ beady pool , when we stayed on St Agnes .Water is cold .

I’ve been in Scilly for a few days now. I’ve never known it even half this busy. The popular anchorages at the Cove and Porthcressa were packed so I have moved to usually quiet areas only to find those very busy. Still a nice place to be though!!

Enjoy LJS, hope all goes well.
Be nice to see a small cruise report with a few pics. Haven't seen much/anything on the area since Bart took his Karnic dive boat there years ago.

After a medical hiccup with eldest granddaughter we all arrived yesterday in glorious weather. The cove is pretty full but unfortunately the wind is now forecast to increase tomorrow from the SW so we will be moving today to either Old Grimsby or St Helens pool, both lovely places to be. I will try and post some pics when we get home, I have found it virtually impossible on my iPad.
Saw lots of dolphins on the crossing from Falmouth, always makes my day when they appear. If anyone else reading this manages to reach St Agnes I am pleased to report that the Turks Head is open, the beer is great and their fish and chips rank up with the best I’ve ever had.

Have a great time LJS and family, keep the anchorage tips coming. It will be great to see some photos , especially would be nice to see Sea-Esta there (y)

No shortage of Sea Esta pics. She is certainly looking good . Now anchored in St Helens pool in anticipation of a fresh SW and some rain. Today has been glorious, walk around St Agnes, delicious ice cream from Troy town farm, fish and chips again from the Turks, swimming in the afternoon and then the short trip around to where we are now.

Tomorrow we all plan on walking from Tresco to Bryher and back on one of the lowest spring tides of the year. That will be something for the kids to remember.

Forgot to mention that just after we anchored in St Helens pool we saw my first ever whale just a small distance from the boat. No idea what type, but it spent some time thrashing the water with it’s tail, and several water spouts were spotted when it surfaced. And on the way over we were accompanied at different times by quite a few dolphins. Great to see the wildlife, makes the journey very special for me.

Trying to get the hang of posting pics, sorry about the duplication above. Need more practice. One pic above is of my sons boat a lovely Sealine 36, formerly owned by Andy59, who made some great improvements before selling it, which my son and his family are now enjoying. Taken in the cove between St Agnes and Bryher. The other pic is of Crow Sound , on our way into St Helens pool. And the dolphins.

Plan today is to walk from Tresco to Bryher and back at low water. The kids will love that. Hoping the rain will stop.
