I wonder if there are any recommendations for getting diesel off clothes? I have washed and was and washed some clothes contaminated with diesel and all I have managed to do is make the washer smell of it too.
Thanks

Interesting re the vinegar. Me old grandma used to swear by it for most known problems. Good on chips too /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Sadly, I think time is the answer. A former colleague soaked his shoes in the stuff when the diesel car he was filling produced a blowback. He tried a number of remedies, all failed. He was loath to dump an almost new pair of shoes, so he chucked them in the shed and then forgot about them. Clearing the shed some two years later, he found them and the diesel smell had gone.

I have just modified my fuel system, to suck the fuel out of the top of the tank. Previously, it came via a tap fitted to the bottom of the fuel tank. This tap sheared off, dumping the fuel in the bottom of the boat. Being wood, I anticipate a smelly boat for the next 12 months.

I thought you'd all like to know Autoglym car fresh spray works. Ariel tablets with Febreze are pretty good on the least diesel polluted clothes. And everything needs washing twice!
