Hello to you all,
I keep my twin outdrive boat in Hoo Marina, of which some of you may know virtually dries out at low water.
I have to keep the legs raised at all times to ensure they dont sink into the mud causing unecessary damage and blocking the water inlets.
My cause for concern is the recent bout of low temperatures and frosts, freezing water that is left in the outdrives and causing freeze damage.
The drives are Volvo sx single props (2006) and the exhaust is throught the centre of the prop of which water sits when the drives are raised all the way up.
The engines have been flushed through with fresh water after last used and drain so I know the blocks will be ok.
I havent had cause to worry before as the drives were able to remain down previously when the marina was being dredged.
I would like to hear from other sterndrive owners if im worrying over nothing??
Kind Regards
Danny
