Getting a boat out of the river around Sunbury

I am looking at getting my 23 foot wooden cruiser out of the thames and taking it to the River Avon at Tewksbury.

What is the best way to get it out of the river onto a lorry?

The driver has a crane but needs a boatyard or good riverside hard standing reasonably close to Sunbury Lock that will allow him to come alongside with the crane.
The boat weighs 3 tons so can't be a river bank.

But THE BEST way may be to take her to Shepperton, and have her lifted there.

Shepperton Marina definitely the best option and unless you are willing to travel probably the only realistic option.

If the person with the crane wagon doesn't know where to go are they the right people for the job?

I'd be asking them.

Other places a little further away include Penton Hook and possibly Bates at Chertsey although not sure if Bates will load to transport.

These places may insist you use their lifting equipment for insurance reasons.

Both marinas at Walton bridge have lifting gear. Doubt you will be able to use your own crane.

Bridge Marine has a 17T limit on their access road. Not sure heavy the truck is going to be.
