The Cats look a lot more individual, the Monos, to my eye, look very generic and biased more to racer / cruiser than cruiser / racer.

Yup totally agree. I would much prefer one these to a MAB any day.
Still, I will have to stick with my not yet quite (but getting there) MAB for now.

I loved the description of the Beneteau Oceanis 30.1
It says "To keep things fun, owners will have the choice of a tiller or a wheel." The photo clearly shows twin wheels (in a 30 footer!). Just to make it really fun can I have a wheel on one side and a tiller on the other?

All the cruising ones look like they've all come from the same designer's CAD system, with the scale button being pressed.
The Beneteau 30.1 looks properly stupid with it's two "mini wheels".

With the exception of the J99, Italia and Sunfast 3300 They are cruiser racer at best. GS34 is too heavy. X looks like a conventional fast cruiser, Swan ditto but they are unlikely to sell many as racers. The world has moved on.
The rest are pure cruisers. No chance of finding any of them on a race course.

Not my cup of tea. A marina boat. Nearly 6ft 6in headroom, Under 25% ballast ratio and a beam similar to a Rival 32.

Of course none of the old grumpies on here like any of the new boats - but probably not likely buyers of any new boats anyway?

It is nice to see a major builder producing a moderate sized boat, rather than just going bigger and bigger - and though not seen one it sounds like an interesting boat that might just attract some younger buyers, such as ex-dinghy sailors (who would probably not even consider an ancient MAB).
The narrow beam is to facilitate road transport I think.
