I have two pre-owned genoa sheets, braid on fibre core.

They are not working as I expect sheets to behave, and seem to take a "set" (curve or bend) when released from the self-tailing winches. It could be that the braid is pinching the core. They also feel hard and unpliant.

I am quite happy to move them to the mooring locker, but need to find fairly quickly some decent sheets which are soft to the hands. What rope do people like for a cruising role please ?

+1 in my experience washing the salt out and use of fabric softener can make a huge difference to rigid genoa sheets.

+1 just soak them in a bucket of detergent and fresh water. If you still don't like them then have new ones. Polyester braid on braid ina suitable size. olewill

I agree with Sailorman. Old sheets have no place in the mooring line locker - they have no elasticity, so will snatch horribly. At best, an uncomfortable night alongside, at worst, a broken line or a cleat pulled out. If washing 'em doesn't give a new lease of life, bin 'em.

We weren't very successful with matt sheets. They seemed prone to abrasion so now ours are nice and shiny, main and jib.

Slight drift, for a while now I've put different size sheets to help differentiate between p &s when it's dark or I'm busy doing all the other things you have to do when single handing.
Happies
