Currently I have 14mm sheets on a SO 342 which is the recommended size by Jeanneau. Thinking about reducing to 12mm due to the max size of 12mm for a Selden whisker pole end jaw. Does anyone use 12mm for a genoa on a boat this size?

Thanks

Chris

I can't see a problem in principle, other than your winches - will they hold and grip 12mm in the self-tailer?

We use 14mm on our Dufour 44.

The self tailers would be fine for the 12mm, I suppose it is more from the handling point of view. I always felt the Jeanneau spec was a bit oversized.

My Gib'Sea 96 is 10.1 metres and 5 tonne fully laden. I changed down from 12 to 10 mm sheets and halyards last winter and it has made a huge difference to sail handling. The genoa is 140%
