Genoa furler repair at North Fambridge

Thanks for suggesting DRS. I've just moved the boat back to Fambridge from a mooring on the Orwell, and I'm just beginning to find out who to go to for what!

The Genoa is difficult to furl and unfurl. The halyard swivel is stiff and does not turn freely. When rinsed out and lubrication squirted into the top, significant amounts of rust seem to be coming out of the bottom. Once under tension with the Genoa on it, the swivel locks up and the Genoa halyard wraps itself around the furler when trying to unfurl the sail.

With a bit of luck they may be able to remove the swivel, split it, and replace the ball races. Otherwise it looks like I'll need a new one. In either case it means getting the swivel off the forestay which is well outside my comfort zone unfortunately.
