Generator remote start, what do you check/how is it done?

no worries, have received SO MUCH help in here over the last decade, that I'm happy to pass on anything I know/figured out.
Hurricane evacuation sounds scary, the longevity of the batteries would be fairly low down in my list. TBH, if you turn off all loads bar bilge pumps, I'd expect the batteries would survive anyway. Don't see any problem setting the system up like that. Actually the delay timer on a normal on off gen is quite close to my more elaborate approach. I recon you should be fine.

paralleling them would also make sense, assuming the whatever leak is manageable (which you wont know anyway...)
Its a belt and braces approach but why not! cheap enough to implement.

cheers

V.

The reason I worry some about the battery life is that the wind driven rain can put SIGNIFICANT amounts of water in the bilge, even if you "plug every little crack and crevice". (And I believe the chance of losing of shore power is probably high). If this all works, I will let you know from our floating home at the END of this hurricane season!!

I have all my parts in and now the fun begins. I found an error in the manufacture's wiring diagrams. I will try to add more posts as I go through the installation and testing of this beast.
