It seems that I will have to go down the road of blasting the underneath of the hull in the next few weeks and would like to hear of any recommendations and approximate prices for sand / slurry basting in the South West.

Many thanks.

Try these guys - the thread appeared on the classic forum:
Many thanks to all who responded to my previous post & especially to those who recommended the Farrow System. The hull was blasted using this system last week with excellent results and no adverse effect on the limpetite. Job took about 8 hours on a 35 foot long keeled Hillyard double ender, including clean up so saved this septuagenariun many back breaking hours. I can strongly recommend Tephratec (Tel: 0845 370 1990) for those in need of bottom stripping without back aching.

Yep! it's the best way to do it.
Up the North east we pay about £13/£14 a foot for a 28' motor boat sand blasted.
It is of help if you tell them how many coats you think is on the hull as they can adjust the blast knozzle pressure to suite.
If your boat is GRP think about applying Gel coats,After any repairs to hull required I put on three coats of Gel coat,+ 1 x coat of Prima-Con,+ 1x Antifoul, lasts two years in sea water conditions before next Antifoul coat, costly but worth while protecting the bear clean hull.
