Gaslvafroid smallest tin size?

I've just come to the end of a spray tin of Galva Plus which has been very good at about £12 for 500ml http://www.rustoleumaerosols.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=350

There no such thing as "cold galvanizing". Some tins are labelled as such, but they are zinc rich paint.
This is a paint with zinc particles in it.
It is not galvanizing, which is the immersion of chemically cleaned steel into molten zinc, where an alloy of iron and zinc forms at the surface.

An easy way to determine an effective zinc rich paint is to just lift the tin. If it doesn't feel extraordinarily heavy then it probably doesn't have enough zinc in it.

Some manufacturers add aluminium. This make it brighter, silverier coloured, but less effective in corrosion protection.

Zinc rich paints are less effective than real galvanizing as the zinc particles are less available electrically, being bound up in the paint resin.

One of the best zinc rich paints is called Zinga. It makes some unsubstantiated claims, but its still one of the best if not the best one.

I had the lifting keel (steel plate and cast iron bulb) on my Hunter painted with Zinga immediately after shot blasting. Their theory, which I take with a small pinch of salt, is that there is enough zinc present to form the intermetallic when it touches the bare steel/iron. I'll reserve judgement on that. The keel has now done four seasons in fresh water and is hoting up very well ... except that the Zinga is very easy to chip off, so the leading and trailing edges of the keep plate are now starying to rust where the guide rollers have knocked off paint.
