Turn up at the boat late this afternoon for a quiet evening in the marina and have just finished our evening meal that involved the misisus cooking the rice downstairs using the gas hob and me heating up the chilli up in the cockpit using our portable camping gas stove.
Anyway she noticed afterwards a gas smell coming from the cupboard next to the cooker. By this time we had already shut the gas off as we only have it on when in use. Having recentley installed a bubble detector after the recent BSS, I used this to test if there is a leak in the system and this confirms that there is, at least when the gas is on, as bubbles do appear.
We have shut the gas off and ventilated the boat, opening windows and canopies and the smell has seemed to have disappeared. Reading the manual that came with the bubble tester, it appears that this leak could be with one the connections, which are in the cupboard mentioned earlier and we should check for this with a 'leak spray' detector. Any ideas were to get this from, bearing in mind tomorrow is sunday. We won't use the gas anymore this weekend and will get the marina engineer to come out and look at it in the week, but any tips or advise?
