My gas dectector needs replacing. Any recommendations suitable for a 29 foot boat please? I've seen plenty of options on the various shopping sites, but wondered if anyone has an opinion on one over another.

My current set up is that there is one dectector by the cooker, but should I also set something up for inside the gas locker? Would that mean two units? or one alarm linked to two dectectors?

Many thanks in advance ...

I use one from Lidl -£9.99 I think. Makes the right noises when activated. Needs to be within 3 metres of gas connections so is close to the galley. No need for one in the gas locker as this should drain overboard.

Suggest you don't make my mistake of fixing a single detector immediately under the cooker - it should be in the bilge. But by the time I realised my mistake I'd cut the cable short. Doh!!

But if your gas locker is sealed up to cylinder height AND has an adequate drain overboard then no need for a sensor there IMHO.
