Help! Brand new Force 10 cooker (1 week old) giving truoble with oven burner
1. yellow tipped flame or occasionally all yellow.
2. this evening made loud roaring noise. Turned off and re-lit ok apart from aforementioned yellow tipped flame.
All 3 top burners are fine, good flame etc.

Any suggestions or do I throw the unit back to the supplier!

No gas leak indicated by gas alarm or our hand held gas detector.

Thank you, any advice gratefully received

Interesting you say a roaring sound. That sometimes indicates the gas is burning before it's reached the burner bar itself. If it has a pilot burner or possibly a loose connection it's possible that's the issue. If its new, best not to mess around with it.

Check that the oven burner is correctly positioned, may have moved in transit? Is there some packing material in the way of the burner/jet? If not, return it.

That was my immediate re-action to reading this, given that the top burners are operating normally. It doesn't take much of a mis-alignment or obstruction to create the effect described.

Many thanks everyone. Have contacted the cooker supplier who is organising a gas engineer to examine it. Had to fit new regulator to ensure as michael_w wrote that there was no problem there. However sadly this did not do the trick..

Whilst doing all this checking thought might as well update hp gas hoses. New ones obtained easily from local caravan supplier in Ipswich who holds an amazing amount of useful stuff also ideal for us boaters. However the hoses pose another problem. So, more help please!

We have a double wall block carrying a hp hose from each gas bottle (now camping gas after the demise of calor) This wall block has a butane reg with the normal 30mm back nut The gas hoses terminate in 1/4 compression fittings at the wall block. BUT our lovely new hoses terminate with W20 fittings tho hoses are 6.3mm New wall blocs are now W20 with propane pol attachment for the regulator. Is there any way to attach our butane regulator to a new W20/propane wall block?
Alternatively is there a W20 male – to 1/4 compression female ? Would appreciate any suggestions.

Have spent a whole week on this business..if the cooker wasn’t so expensive ……! Say no more…

Would the GasBoat 4104 manual change over valve with M20 male inlets and LH 21.8 mm male outlet for butane nut solve the problem?

Is the 1/4 connection the issue, I’ve mostly seen 8mm or 10 mm for gas feeds
Hi Daverw, the 6mm gas feed is on the high pressure side before the regulator. All the rest is 3/8 copper except for the final flexible on to the cooker itself.
All so frustrating- the three hob burners are great, the grill is brilliant, the oven burner is very scary..

What pressures are you getting at the cooker?
No idea, but the 3 hob burners plus grill all work brilliantly even when all are on together so I would expect the pressure to be ok The supplier is sending a gas engineer …hopefully very shortly!

Hi michael_w. Thanks for your input. The engineer has confirmed gas pressure is fine and there is nothing wrong with our installation. He seems to think the oven thermostat is to blame. If the oven is turned down we have a blue flame but if then turned up quickly we get yellow flames and roaring. I find this a bit of an odd diagnosis as this is not how one operates an oven. Usually turned on and left until need to reduce heat.
Supplier has offered to replace the (presumed) faulty item or exchange the cooker. The former is tempting (less hassle) but gut instinct says change cooker.
