Gas Bottle Locker Access

Iam at the mo planning to re- build my gas bottle locker

question is are those plastic inspection hatches on hinges
as advertised by eg/ ASAP good enough to stop gasses from
passing through,

My locker is vented top and bottom to outside

if not any suggestions ?

Probably do not meet the requirements for fire resistance ???

Also
If you are planning a side access door then then it must be gas tight when closed ... the locker should be gas tight ( except for the drain) up to a level above the high pressure components.

What requirements for fire resistance?

I agree not suitable if the installation requires the hatch to be gas-tight. It would help if the OP said a little more about what he has in mind. Is the hatch going to open into a space inside the hull (cabin / locker)?

LPG cylinders overheating in a fire will place people and property in the vicinity of the boat at extreme risk.

The cylinder locker must be constructed of material of the required thickness.

Cylinder lockers must be constructed of materials that are either the same material and thickness of the surrounding hull structure;
or, metal of minimum thickness of approximately 1mm;
or, FRP of minimum thickness of approximately 5mm (1⁄4 in) thickness.

A combination of wooden cylinder-lockers lined with FRP of a lesser thickness than 5mm (1⁄4 in) may be estimated as equivalent.
