gas availability

Currently have a Taylors paraffin stove, am thinking of replacing with gas cooker supplied by 6kg propane bottles.
Q. what is the availability in the med for gas bottles?

Camping Gaz, everywhere, but cartel prices. The rest, sometimes, someplace, often difficult to hunt down and/or get to. Sometimes you have to haul the bottle to the refinery and pick it up the next day, sometimes it's refilled at the Autogas station while watching out for cops, sometimes you get a cheap Butsir bottle, sometimes you get scammed out of a precious Camping Gaz bottle and swapped for a cheap Butsir one. Sometimes you can find a gas refill place that does it legally, properly and cheaply - but not often. Some buy whatever the national cheap gas bottle is and refill it with homemade adapters into their own bottle. Some do this correctly, others make the whole pontoon nervous with the smell of spilled gas.
