Garmin Street pilot as a plotter

Hello

Is anyone famliliar with the garmin street pilot 3 and ever heard of anyone sucesfully using it as a plotter, I have the maps on but not the Map source software ?????

As an experiment , I loaded a Mapscource chart onto my SPi3 but I cannot unlock them to SP . There was no error message as in " These charts are not compatible " So I assume it can be done . Screens a bit small but would have done me .

I Dont think it will, the unit has software built in software to manage the maps, routing, waypoints etc.. will try and contact garmin today...
