Yes Garmin plotters and bluecharts have always been best of breed, and Raymarine have excelled at radar, AP and networked instrumentation. Would allow rationalisation as both product streams are merged combining Garmin's charts and plotter touch screen technology with Raymarines radar, AP and instruments. But could be very bad for consumers as prices go up. Probably mean end of the E and C series for raymarine and the end of Garmin's AP, Radar and instruments. Navionics could be affected by this if BlueCharts become the only charts in the new company's product line.

Yes, and I was thinking more of Garmins better exposure to 'other' markets.
Raymarine are too focused on the small boat market (sub 20m) whilst there is aviation, and a host of land based opportunties that Garmin have grabbed.
