I've done a load of reading, I think I've got it, but I am just after some re-assurance before I start buying a few cables, so this is the proposed set-up
Raymarine S100 remote receiver box
-links / daisychains via Seatalk cable into back of....
Raymarine ST60 Log
- links /daisychains via Seatalk on back of ST60 display to.....
Raymarine ST60+ Wind display
- links / daisychains via Seatalk on back of ST60+ to.....
Raymarine Smart Pilot S1 Tiller Controller box
- links / daisychains using Seatalk to Seatalk NG cable into....
Raymarine Seatalk to Seatalk NG Converter / backbone block (which I have)
which then links using the Raymarine Seatalk NG to NME2000 (either A06046 - male, or A06045 - female) int0....
a garmin NMEA2000 backbone, which supports
- Garmin GPS750 chartplotter
- Garmin AIS600 ais transponder
- Garmin VHF 200 radio
A couple of key questions:
1. Do I power either a) only the Seatalk NG converter/ backbone block, or b) only the Garmin NMEA 2000 backbone, or c) both?
2. Would I be better off (make it easier) using NMEA 0183 as the interface between the systems for the waypoint info from the Chartplotter to the S1 Tillerpilot?
The aim is to pick up waypoint info from the Chartplotter for the tillerpilot to steer to wpt and wind info from the Raymarine wind for the tillerpilot to steer to wind.
Thanks,
CR
