This is no longer my navigation preference (iPad for that) but I have it running when just out locally to track the log for the year and to show speed. The screen has faded, presumably age and UV over the last 15years. Is there anything to be done to improve it? Brightness, back light and contrast all adjusted.

Anybody got an old one kicking around that has a good screen?

Watching as my old beast is going the same way.. been a fantastic little machine, really don't want to junk it..

Same here. I also had corrosion problems with the multi pin socket so ended up with a soldered cable to power it. I gave up last season and bought a Garmin GPS 73. Same sort of functionality but much faster to acquire satellites and much improved battery life so no need for 12v power (so far). Maybe time to retire the 72.
