Garmin Gps Map175

This unit has worked fine until a couple of months ago.
It now says Data card format is not recognized.
It has a Data card GNE 034SL Channel central fitted.
So to sum up. Has all the usual GPS functions, even shows the pre loaded world map but will not read the card.
Any Ideas?
Garmin say they dont support it anymore

Assuming you could use this card before or Garmin confirmed it was compatible. Do you have good GPS fix? Could Garmin remember how to do a cold start or factory reset? (assuming you dont need your waypoints)

The Card Has always worked until Nov 2008 Yes Im getting a good fix
In the manual, its says to remove and re insert card if formatting message comes up.
I've done this and it sounds off a satisfing beep beep , but it still does not work.
!!!

Try cleaning the card and unit contacts with a pencil rubber (don't know what the card looks like so apologies if this is not possible).
