Garmin gps map 450s

Hi All just acquired a secondhand unit Garmin 450s and it has come without cables, No probs for the power but noticed from the manual it has the ability to be a fish/depth finder, which I am very keen to have so need to buy a power/transducer cable but after searching the net cant seem to find any reference to what type of transducer I need, dont fancy a transom mount type but does anyone know what type will fit and where I can get one?

Stick it inside the hull with Epoxy.

Rang Chris at greenham-regis, Garmin outlet in Poole and bought everything there (cheaper than ebay and guaranteed genuine Garmin) delivered within two days with plenty of advice on how and where to fit. Top man.

+1, but ensure that there are no air bubbles in the epoxy, between the transducer and the hull. Alternatively, you could glass in an enclosure, so that the transducer is operating in a bath of castor oil, whose bottom is the hull. There is plenty of info on here, if you use the right search words.

I have this very model. Had it for nearly 10 years and in 3 boats to date. Great wee thing.
With regards to the transducer. Be careful. Whether the transom mount transducer referred to will work through hull or not is a gamble. It will depend on the build of your boat.
However...I can tell you with 100% certainty that this model originally came spec'd and advised for the through go hull skin fitting transducer. This is what I have. I never fancied drilling a hole in a perfectly good boat, so just stuck it in the bilge with a cushion of silicone to secure (no bubbles). It has worked on every boat flawlessly to date. From a flimsy bayliner paper thin hull, present campion speedboat with Kevlar featured hull and also a late 80's heavily built Sealine.
Only time it struggles is when reversing and turbulent water beneath the hull.
They aren't cheap, but I gaurentee they work with t his through hull.
