I have a garmin 152, i have included an buzzer in the installation, when i set the anchor drag it buzzes when it goes outside its set parameters once, then stops, if the boat moves and goes outside the parameters again it also alarms once. what i would like it to do, is alarm continuously until it has been reset, so if you are asleep it will wake you, and you will know that something is wrong and be able to sort it out, because in the past you have slept through the short burst of alarm buzzer. (How do i know i have sleep thru it, cause swmbo told me in the morning. doh....!!!!).

is there a simple way of connecting up the alarm or adding a simple additional cct,
i presume that i would need some sort of relay that would energize and switch a power cct on for the buzzer to ring continuously, and a reset to turn it off.

it would also need to receive it initial trigger from the gps alarm, as it also can be used for various different alarms, waypoint arrival, alarm clock, etc..

Or is there a setup in the gps that i have missed. i have scanned the instructions but have not found anything apart from the on/off function...

You need to get the output to trigger a relay that latches in until you reset it. hook you buzzer to the NO contact and you are all set.

RS stock a number of latching relays.

PM me if you get stuck.
