Garmin GPS 72 download to Mapsource question?

I have been trying to download waypoints and routes from my handheld to my laptop (Mapsource prog) with the intention of transfering them to my 182c via the card reader.

The problem seems to be that once download has taken place I can only view all the waypoints and routes on the PC together and cant seem to show them individually. Therefore it comes across as a pink splodgy mess.....

I suspect I have missed something here and would be very grateful for some enlightenment.

After our previous correspondence today I am not sure I fully understand this!

With Mapsource you have the option of downloading/uploading either waypoints, routes, tracks or maps or a combination of any of these. Within Mapsource you can delete and/or copy tracks, routes or waypoints so leaving the information you need.

As an example, the tracks I sent you earlier today were downloaded as a complete set of data from my GPS. I then copied the two tracks I was interested in, pasted them to another copy of Mapsource that was running in a separate window, then saving as a separate file that just had the two tracks.

Perhaps we should get together for that beer, just remind me not to let you navigate.

My problem is that after downloading waypoints from my handheld I can only seem to keep all or none of them. However I will try copying and pasting into a NEW Mapsource document - that may well do it.

The test one I sent you was just me playing with the thing today and just bunged a load of waypoints on to see if its possible to mail a route - and it is!

Ill let you know how I get on

Just tried as you have suggested and bingo! - It works

Now why did I not work it out??
