Garmin gps 7 screen fade

After 15 years the screen is fading. Presumably this is caused by UV and is irreversible.
I don’t bother to set up the iPad when out for the day but I like to have the Garmin showing speed and clocking milage. It also has waypoints.

As the 72 is no longer available then the 73 might be the obvious replacement. Does anybody know if it will fit in the holder for the 72 does it have the same plug on the power lead ( I have a very short lead from an adjacent socket) ?

The mounts are different, but they both use the same power/data cable.

I noticed mine was doing the same - not quite as old as yours but getting there... spotted this on PBO a while back - worth checking before you part with the money for a 73???
