A bit new to GPS (my last boat was a gaffer and all the nav stuff was done with a bit of dried seaweed and a length of tarred marlin). I want my GPS 60 to display a compass bearing to the next waypoint, but it seems to want to say something like 'Bearing SE' or 'Bearing NE' - is it possible to change this to something a bit more accurate, like 'Bearing 183' or whatever? Can't seem to find a menu setting that will do this - is it possible?

press "find" key
highlight "waypoints & press "enter"
select your waypoint, I assume it is already an entered WP & press enter,
go to "page" button and scroll through to "map" page. you should then see your bearing in the top right field.

Ive just relooked at this and my previous post may not be the way to do it.
access your waypoint, press enter, select your WP, note bottom right corner has "go to" select this and it should show your bearing.
hope this helps

Thanks. I tried what you suggested but it displays both the bearing and the current heading as SW or NE (compass cardinals?? - don't know what their called!) instead of a 'degrees' figure.
I've had yet another look through the manual for an option to change the display but without any luck. I'd have thought that something that can work out your position to within 10 m would be a bit more precise about headings.

Menu->Setup->Display should offer a pop-up of "Cardinal Letters, Degrees, Mils" - I suspect that yours is set to the former.

The next option lets you fiddle with True/Mag/Grid North.
