Garmin GPS 451

Thinking of buying a Garmin 451. Does anybody have one? It says it has preloaded UK charts included, what are they like? is there plenty of detail? Are the charts preloaded and ready to use of do you have to pay to unlock them?

They are preloaded and no lock or extra cost. They are as detailed as any other down to individual buoys etc. updates available free from the Garmin site. It's a good little unit.

We have one, Got us to Brittany ,Isles of scilly Cardiff , with no problems, worth getting the 451s and get a dual frequency transducer for it ( we got ours from force 4 for 56£)
You have a depth sounder and fish finder. An
Ais engine and dsc VHF links up to it aswell
