Do the Garmin GHP 20 or GHP 10 Autopilot core packs work with existing raymarine hydraulic pumps?

It has been suggested that Garmin Autopilot core packs will work with other vendors hydraulic pumps. Does anybody know if this is true or if anybody has done this. It would save a lot of installation effort if the hydraulic side can be left alone except for the in line garmin flow sensor. This winter we are planning to replace the existing raymarine network with a garmin one. Also does anybody know if the Garmin autohelm can have a sensitivity/response chart programmed into it (ie different response setting for different speeds). Such should assist low speed steering accuracy. On the existing raymarine autohelm I have to increase the response from 1 to 3 when slowing to displacement speeds or it wanders a bit. Thanks in advance. Noel

If you are used to Raymarine pilot then I would stick with Raymarine as I find the Garmin pilot no where near as good, this is from experience of using both.

That's strange. I find the Garmin autopilots much better than the Raymarine. Are you sure it is set up correctly and the dockside and sea trial wizards have been performed?

Ref using the raymarine pump I can't see it working as the Garmin pump has a feedback to a control unit that is connected into the backbone system.
The response dose not need adjusting as the unit senses the vessels speed and adjusts its self .
