Garmin Data Transfer
I purchased Garmin HomePort software (Version 2.1.1) running on my laptop (Windows 7). It's great for voyage planning and have loaded 100 or so Waypoints and made up 10 or so Routes. Inserted an SD card in my Garmin 4012 plotter and it duly prepared the card and it placed a file called USER DATA.adm onto the card. Put the card in the laptop and exported “My Collection” file (Waypoints and Routes) to the same location on the card as the USER DATA file. The export file options are .gpx or .gdp. I exported in both formats. Re-inserted the card in the plotter and it does not recognize either file.
How do I export in .adm format from HomePort or convert the .gpx or .gdp files to .adm format? Garmin website is unhelpful and the email to Garmin remains unanswered. Grateful for any advice please.
