Just bought a new garmin for the boat and need to get hold of charts for the balearics, are there any cheaper sources than the official garmin web shop?

Ive seen a few second hand sd cards on ebay, i presume these would work fine, ie they are not locked to the original device? Although i guess they could be a little out of date.

Its looking like its about £100 for the western med chart from the garmin website.

Is there a chart shop on the island ? You can walk in ?

My plotter developed a fault it’s lost it’s zoom in .
Was about to say hey ho - new gadget time but the prob was finding one with the same footprint.
This one works in full sun too .
Anyhow I diagnosed a possible card error ? Not sure really but there was some ver d Gris on the gold looking contacts , tried to clean it off no luck .
Last chance saloon new card .

Off I toddled to the shop in Antibes.
Turns out they don,t actually physically stock them .
It’s all E based .
Up on laptop comes the patterns ,- you pick - then they take blank insert it , download it then via a mini printer label it .
I’ve got Gib to Istanbul whole of the Med inc N Africa .
Was about €170ish .
There’s also a lot more functionality or I’ve accidentally found it , stuff like time to target .

That sounds like it covers a larger area than the chart i saw on the garmin website, either would be a bit overkill for my needs , but i think the western med on the garmin website is the cheapest that covers the balearics.

Its $129 on the website, was hoping for some dealer thats knocking them out cheaper, i guess i could try the dealers om the island, but i prob cant be bothered travelling round them.
