I bought a Bluechart data card for the Thames Estuary for a GPSmap 76 but got it wrong, as the card didnt fit the unit. I sent the GPSmap 76 back (I hated it anyway) but still have the Bluechart card.

I still want a garmin handheld plotter but cant seem to grasp whether the standard Bluechart cards will fit in them?

Has anyone got a Garmin handheld that takes a Bluechart card or are all the handhelds using micro SD cards?

And also, is a Bluechart G2 the same as the Standard Bluechart?

Technology is not my strong point!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well, I can answer this bit. No, they aren't, G2 is the later version and Bluechart will shortly/already has become obsolete. Garmin told me at LIBS that a software upgrade will be available about now to enable G2 software to run on older Bluechart sets. It should be available on their website but in emergency telephone them.

Just read your post re obsolescence std Bluechart (confirmed by Garmin site).
With G2, how can Trips & Waypoints be managed ? I curently use Mapsource (have 76CSX) as my PC based central respository for everything. I am planning on buying Bluechart maps (now G2) If as I now understand SD G2 Maps can not be accessed from PC for Trip planning etc, this seems a retrograde step /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
