Garmin Autopilot Fuse Bloeing

We have a Garmin GHP 12 autopilot connected to a Garmin Class A Drive.

The drives inline fuse keeps blowing, we can do the dockside calibration but when doing the sea trial it blows very quickly.

Garmin has offered to replace the drive for £800 and thinks this will fix the problem.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

This could be a fault with the drive when under load or it could be excessive resistance when underway. The drive isn't made by Garmin, it is a Jefa LD100, see here : Jefa Steering Systems

These is some limited tests at the bottom of the page. You could also contact Jefa for advice, they should be able to test the drive for you and hopefully repair if needs be.
