I've been thinking of getting a Garmin 750 and have been watching prices drop - best I can find now is £700, anyone know of a better deal?
The 751 is due out, the only price indication I have seen for it is about £1100 see http://www.hudsonmarine.co.uk/index.php?module_display=41&pid=152543 (matching the comparable Standard Horizon one.)
Have you seen it on display at LIBS with any firmer price and availability info and in particular any indication of whether the 750 continues in parallel or the 751 takes over as the sole model?
The 751 appears to differ in added features like wi-fi and controlling your sound system, which I can't see being any use to me, rather than basic chartplotter capability. See https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare.do?cID=148&compareProduct=119868&compareProduct=37723
If you've been able to have a play with it at LIBS - do you see any advantages over the 750?
I wonder what will happen to 750 price if it's being discontinued - might go down further, or might even recover as people not wanting to pay a lot more for the new one snap them up!

How can you get in contact with the Garmin stand, have they a mobile number or company land line number (It's probably a dealer acting for Garmin!) - best I can get on a 551S is £395 - they maybe able to beat that ;)

750 from the Garmin stand today bought at £675. Further reductions off their show prices for VHF (£45 less) and the AIS box (£75 less).

At SIBS, direct from Garmin was MUCH dearer than from dealers, about £1k against £750, I guess they have to be careful about undercutting them and p***ing them off.
Did you actually get this price from Garmin or a dealer? If it was from Garmin dealers will have to follow. Possibly indicates obsolescence.

These were sales people on the Garmin stand & I simply asked if they could match/better the Marinesuperstore price (who were just down the hall & had on their notice board the price of £699).

The prices have just dropped again (Cactus Navigation have just dropped their prices also in the last couple of days). Prices have dropped by roughly £50 per month (been looking last four months!) I'm going to wait another couple of months, a 750 might be in my budget then also. The prices won't be going up again apparently so...
