Garmin 45 now acquiring satellites

After some years of lying idle, I tried to get my Gamin 45 to acquire a fix. Even after some days being left on continuously with an external aerial, no joy.
Reading the manual for my Garmin 48 it stated " to clear the internal memory, hold down the Mark button and turn on the unit".
I tried this on the 45 and after leaving it on for a couple of hours it has now acquired a fix on 4 satellites and gave me my position and reacquires them after being turned off and on.
Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem.

Make the most of it. According to a report in today's Guardian, the GPS satellite system is decaying fast and could leave us without any signal or an intermittemt signal. Better bone up on the old DR or get a crash course on the sextant!

do you think the septics will let the gps system fail, how would they be able to bomb anywhere, they would have to stop making war on other countries
