As has been said, you have the wrong cable. It is also worth mentioning that a number of the “drop” cables used with the 17x are overly long (they should be 6m max) to be N2K compliant as a drop cable, what I usually do in such circumstances is designate the 17x as the end of the backbone and insert an inline terminator between it and the N2K cable, you can do this with any node and it is especially useful on say a rudder position sender or a wind transducer atop a mast where a “drop” cable would be well over length. This though not compliant would not necessarily be an issue with just a few nodes (depending where the power feed is) but on larger installs it can start to cause problems.
