Garmin 292c - opinions please

Local chandlery has some of these units for sale at £299 which does seem something of a bargain, but only if it's a good unit.

I have an old monochrome 235 which is a chart plotter and sounder combined, although I don't really use the sounder as I already have a colour unit. Does anyone know if the chart cartridges are comparible with the 292 - I suspect not cos I think the 292 uses the bluechart system.

Any views from owners would be appreciated

List price for a colour 292 with built in antenna is 646.24

Any of your local chaps that stock Garmin should be able to get one in for you, we hold the fishfinder version (298C) and can get the 292C within two days. The G2 chart data is finally available now too.
