Garmin 152GPS BNC - 50 or 75 ohm?

I had to cut the plug off to route the cable and I'm not sure what plug to replace it with? *edit* I think the cable is RG-58 can anyone confirm this? *edit*

Also are the twist on plugs ok to use?

50 ohm.
Twist on plug should be ok, although they are not the most robust.
RG58 is about 5mm diameter. The dimensions are probably in the RS catalogue www.rswww.com, as are decent plugs etc.
