Hi all,

Earlier in the year I upgraded to a Standard Horizon GZ1200E DSC VHF and I've been trying to connect the Garmin 128 to it, but cannot seem to get it to work.

Has anyone successfully connected these two, and if so what colour wires did you connect!

Many thanks!

Did it this spring for a 2100.

The Garmin NMEA + Out is the blue wire. The black is the NMEA- and -ve.

The radio NMEA In + is blue The NMEA Common is green.

So blue to blue, black to green. These wires aren't joined to any other device at the moment.

I get asked this question so often I have created a page that describes a generic link from GPS to DSC VHF radio

http://www.boat-angling.co.uk/Hints_and_Tips/ConnectingGPStoDSC.htm

That may help. There are only two wires to connect, Blue out of Garmin is usual. Be aware the data Ground and power Ground are often the same on Garmin kit, and the data cable metal shroud can also sometimes be Ground.

Maybe you can create another page on posting links...
