good morning all,

not sure where to post as it applies both to mobo and PBO, so goes here...

Right, am I the only one that has had leaks between the motor body and the hydraulic manifold?
Happened once a couple of years back filling the bilge with hydraulic oil, tightened the two allen screws, the one took almost a turn, everything fine since!
This year after 180nm in 3 legs with the a/p working long hours I lost steering again, to find the same screws loose and all oil in bilge again.
Again tightened them but still had a minor leak that after another 100nm identified in the four ressessed again allen screws needing a bit of tightening (say 20-30deg each)
Now all is dry down there.

So,
A. would be interested to know if anyone has that happened to them
B. a warning to take a 4 or 5mm allen and check the 2 + 4 screws there.

Mind the 3 flathead screws are to isolate the a/p hydraulic bits in case of emergency, so don't force them and don't tighten them either, have to be undone (as they should be if the system works!)

adding the 4page manual link from Garmin site so that you know what I'm talking about:

EDIT: yes I know I should remove and put thread lock on them, wouldn't do it in the middle of the sea on an F4, so will do sometime now that I'm back home!
Mind not sure how well thread lock will work in an oily setup, should isolate the manifold, remove it, clean everything, add threadlock and put them back together.

cheers

V.
