Don't get rid of it we made one because we needed it when stern to, it's not unusual for there to be rocks sticking out from the quay in both the Med and Caribbean and doubtless in many other places around the world. We carried a long deck bag on the coach roof for storage and kept the passerelle under that. You would regret getting rid of it and I suspect you would have to buy or make one.
