Gambler\'s Pension Plan? (a bit nb)

Is there such a product available? this is a bit boaty, since boats cost a load of loot.

Rather than unfathomable "trusts" and other such pensions rubbish that always sound like a swiz and when they write to you it is uncler wht it's worth if anything...would it not be an idea to be able to get some odds on one's death at a certain age? In other words, you make a largish bet that you'll be dead by the time you're (say) seventy or eighty or whatever. This way you could burn up a whole load of cash knowing that it only has to last until that age, after which if you're still alive, they pay out. You'd probably need to have multiple gambles, for each year.

Er, i've just realised that this is possibly what a pension actually is. So why are the odds so rubbish? And couldn't william hill do something a lot simpler? Far more fun anyway. Also, if it was specifically a gamble, then all the winnings would be tax free, no?

Hmm...sounds a good idea, but what happens when your friendly bookmaker gets his "minders" pay you a vist to make sure he doesn't have to pay out? Of course no bookies would do that.............. would they?

Great idea , with the average male life expectancy being 78 and rising but not much past say 85, I wonder how exact (maybe even by months) the bet would have to be. To reach 90 is still for now, a far throw for most , (men that is)....

Including smoking and other factors e.g. profession, where you live etc, it would in my opinion, still be a lottery. Would you have to provide genetic test results?
