Just getting round to rewiring the mains on the boat and fitting the galvanic isolator.

I have one of those domestic test plugs for checking socket polarity, earth etc. With the GI fitted will it still show the earth as correct or will it show a fault?

If your test plug works Ok I suggest you dont leave it in operation all the time. It will probably be passing a very small current through the earth conductor via the GI. I think that may well mean that the GI will not then block current from the low voltage "galvanic" sources that it is fitted for.

You may have an indication 24/7 that the shorepower connection is healthy while your anodes are slowly "melting" away without you realising it.

Agree with that. I usually test my socket, then remove the plug and put it away again.
